Our Projects:
Phase 3 of the Town Hall Restoration
Phase 3, the final step in the Town Hall Restoration project, is underway! Phase 3 is the restoration of the 2nd floor Opera House.
Funding for the Town Hall Project has been through personal and business donations, grants, and contributions by the Village of West Liberty and Liberty Township. The West Liberty Town Hall Restoration Committee has raised over $260,000 in renovation funds for Phase 1 and 2, plus $60,000.00 for the purchase of an additional building. We have received a $15,000 grant from the Columbus Foundation/Mary Eleanor Morris Fund, a $30,000 donation from a local business and $25,000 from the local Savings and Loan, but 73% of the donations are under $1000; we have public support and interest. Additional work done by the township and village for $95,000 has secured the building for future generations. To complete Phase 3, the West Liberty Historical Society is requesting $300,000 from the Capital Investment Program. Follow our progress or help the project along by PLEDGING A DONATION TODAY! |
